Bluebells. They seem to be everywhere this year.
In the unmowed grass:
In the woods. They make blue carpets of themselves there…
And, along with pink and white purslane, they line the pathways and fill the air with intoxicating sweetness.
THE MERMAID AND THE BEAR
My debut novel, The Mermaid and the Bear, was published by GWL Publishing in 2019.
Aspects of the book:
- It’s mainly set in a fictional castle in Aberdeenshire.
- It incorporates the 1597 Aberdeen witchcraft panic.
- There’s a stone circle.
- There’s 16th century Christmas.
- And there’s a love story.

such an enchanting place, and if I look hard enough maybe I will spot dwarves, elves, and fairies.
Maybe!
Lovely flowers!
They are rather delightful!
What gorgeous images!
Just beautiful, Ailish. A feast for the eyes!
They really are such lovely flowers.
We have a different variety here, but they will soon be coming into bloom too!
Lovely 🙂
No bluebells where I live, unfortunately. Always fun to see the different flowers ’round the world.
Yes, I enjoy seeing nature across the world too.
Very pretty photos.
Great photos, nothing quite like the beautiful simplicity of a flower.
Indeed 🙂
Beautiful pics.
