I’ve written about Fyvie Castle before, but those posts, about the loch and Christmas and snowy castles, were all a bit wintery. Today, we visit the beautiful walled garden of the castle in autumn.
First we walk past a patch of black-eyed Susans (above), and take a wee peek at the castle itself.

There’s a big tree, nestled in the corner of walls that are mismatched in height. Built at different times, the one on the right hides the walled garden.

Through the gate we go…

There’s apples. So many apples.

They can be purchased for a donation in the fruit store.

Up and down the paths we walk. Tiny apple trees grow alongside marigolds. Apples and oranges of a sort.

The dahlias are amazing.

Back down the path we go, between fruits, between flowers…

And we’re off for a quick amble along the leafy lanes by the loch.

Autumn is not quite at full ‘crunch’ yet. But it is beautiful.

Fireflies and Chocolate

Torn out of an isolated life in a Scottish castle, Elizabeth embarks on a determined quest to return home. Exhilarating adventures unfold on the high seas, love blossoms, and the chocolate, purchased in Benjamin Franklinโs printing shop, is delicious!
FIREFLIES AND CHOCOLATE was inspired by the 600 children and young people who were kidnapped from Aberdeen during the 1740s and sold into indentured servitude in the American Colonies.
