Beautiful castle windows and doors at Drum.
From small, dark hidey-holes…
To windows and doors that reveal exactly where you are.
The door of the chapel:
On this day there was torture in the dungeon.
A knight in the medieval great hall:
A walk on the roof:
Soup by the old fireplace in the kitchen…
And unrelenting rain.

Writer’s tip jar:
It’s always such a treat to look at your posts 🙂
Thank you so much Terry 🙂
I’m a big fan of windows and doors. This post couldn’t be more perfect!
I love them too, magical little portals…
Exactly! Keep up the beautiful blogs.
I second Lynsey’s comment. Beautiful pictures!
Thank you 😀
Love it! Is any portion currently inhabited? By people, not ghosts?
Possibly by National Trust staff, not by the family…
What is it about doors and doorways and arches? Wherever I go, I notice them and usually try to take a picture of them. They’re magical. These are stunning.
Yes, I love them too 🙂
What fun – love the kitchen
So much to see, love it! Possibly because it’s a castle that the rain gives it more atmosphere!
Some amazing views here
Castles do tend to provide those 🙂
Amazing place, you have beautifully captured the atmosphere. I have a thing for windows, the frame remains static but the scenery is slowly ever-changing.
Yes, I love windows too.
Lovely photos as always, makes you want to visit the place immediately. Great post, Ailish.
Thank you 🙂
